Why Relationships Still Close Main Street Deals

Portals move inventory. People move companies. The 1999 Concept was not a slogan — it was an operating system.

The HeyWhatEver Concept brand wheel, 1999

The HeyWhatEver Concept, drawn in 1999, put a company at the center and twelve desks around it — information, business, shop, ads, jobs, TV, radio, mobile, USA, search, non-profits, social. The tagline under the wheel was not cute: it is all about relationships. Twenty-seven years later the portals are faster. Closing is not.

A listing is a megaphone. A mandate is a room.

Public listing sites are useful for certain assets. They are a poor fit for a company whose value is the founder’s relationships, a shop floor that cannot survive a rumor, or a buyer universe of twenty names. Those files need a person who will pick up the phone, keep a log, and sit through the ugly diligence week without disappearing.

It’s ALL ABOUT Relationships.

Business Broker Group is that room. The lion on the door, the 1-877-HEY-WHAT line, and the ROCK@HeyWhatEver.com inbox are the same promise: a named broker, a dated process, and counsel that still answers after the wire.
